August 5, 2012 Atlanta, GA
A few weeks ago I had the chance to attend the Mid-Summer Bronner Bros International Hair Show and the Saisha Beecham Celebrity Make-Up Workshop. Both were held in Atlanta, GA. I only had a few hours to spend in Atlanta, so I decided to make it a point to attend both events. I first arrived at the Georgia World Congress Center for the Bronner Bros Hair Show. This was my second time attending the event and I was elated to see the astonishing hair creations that I don't typically see at the Natural Hair Show.
Upon purchasing my one day ticket, I made my way once around the floor then to the Design Essentials Naturalista Workshop for Natural Hair. I always make it a priority to attend workshops at any hair show that I attend. This gives me the opportunity to mix and mingle while learning from the top companies in the hair industry. I always love to sit in on the Design Essentials workshops in particular. They have such a knowledgeable staff on maintaining healthy hair at the salon and at home. Design Essentials Design System provides direct distribution of premium, quality hair care solutons engineered to infuse hair with a balance of natural ingredients.
What I love the most about the Design Essentials team is their willingness to educate their consumers on healthy hair. Deshonica Kerrie, a Design Essentials Master Stylist, gave step by step styling techniques for the latest textured styles, demonstrated how to revamp the french roll for natural clients, how to elongate tighter curl patterns, twists, rodsets, Curlformer styling, and many other ways stylist can cater to their natural customer. Here are a few pictures I took during the workshop:
So as I was walking around, I spotted Lisa Price of Carol's Daughter. I honestly had a "I just met THE Oprah Winfrey of Natural Hair Care"moment. I wasn't feeling well but I had to take a picture plus my friend Lexi (Alexis of Lexiwiththecurls.com) wouldn't let me pass up taking a picture. It was nice meeting Lisa Price.
Next event was the Saisha Beecham Celebrity Make-Up Workshop. I had the pleasure to be attend this invite only event held at Derek Blank's studio. I'm sure you all who watched Real Housewives of Atlanta in its first few seasons remember Mr. Blanks. He is known for his Alter Ego celebrity photos. Saisha Beecham is a professional makeup artist who has high-profile clients including Nia Long, Kelly Rowland, Venus Williams, and many more. Saisha has estbalished herself as an extraordinary makeup artist who also does special effects makeup and body painting. I was running late so I didn't get my own area to apply Saisha's techniques to myself. I did however catch a picture of Eboni from fashionista-next-door.com doing her makeup. I loved the setup of the workshop. Saisha and her model were at the front of the room and had multiple televisions placed around the tables of those participating with the demonstrations. This allowed everyone to see up close, step by step demonstrations on Saisha's makeup techniques. Here are a few pictures I captured from Saisha's workshop:
Until the next event, Be Blessed and Be a Blessing....
